Trip Map

Join us on a voyage from cosmopolitan Paris to the beaches of Normandy, and delve deeply into a region rich in history and culture. We’ll start by exploring Paris, the City of Light, then cruise through the heartland of France with uninterrupted views of orchards and fertile pastures lining the banks of the Seine River. We’ll disembark to visit Conflans, or Van Gogh Country, before continuing to Normandy and its beaches where we’ll visit the World War II Peace Memorial Museum and pause in remembrance at the American Military Cemetery.

This is departure day. Ellen and I took a flight to Charlotte Douglas International Airport to connect to our evening flight heading to Charles De Gaulle International Airport in France. It was an overnighter but going business class is the way to fly!

We started from Dulles International Airport (IAD) in the morning and found a nice place to have breakfast. We took a shuttle plane to Charlotte International Airport (CLT). That’s where we saw the mechanical riding bull…and a a lonely sandal left in the middle of a sea of humanity.

On our way to Charles de Gaulle International Airport (CDL) we watched our progress on the monitor. We really get a kick out of seeing this instead of a movie.
