Instead of taking the usual path (Interstate 81) we chose to take an alternative scenic route via Remington, Brandy Station, Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Bedford and Roanoke. Along the way we found interesting points of interest to take photographs of.

Remington had a neat ice cream store with a cow. Brandy Station exhibited a Civil War Graffiti Hospital. Charlottesville had lots of things to see too. It was fun driving around town looking for the nude statue with wings. The Lewis and Clarke statue has Sacagawea kneeling behind them. A plaque has been added with an apology to her. It’s a politically correct thing…but Robert E. Lee was still on his horse! There are the three amigos statues: Jefferson, Madison and Monroe. There is an “art” park in town. The biggest exhibit is a love butt.

You’ll find a picture of Jorge with an Easter Island Moai statue. We found some very large high heels too. The most exiting thing might have been finding a statue of Optimus Prime. If you have to ask who that is…well you’re just not young enough. ;-)
