Today we drove by the World’s Largest Horseshoe Crab. It is located in Hillsboro OH and if you’re interested in its exact location click here. How many people would one this size actually feed?

Cincinnati OH is a busy city. There are lots of one-way streets and a challenge to drive. We did manage to drive by a few places to photograph. The Metrobot and the Toy Heritage Mural were on our list but we found more. Check out those photos! See the silhouette of the hot, smoking lady?

In 1934, Peggy the Flying Red Horse, was a Mobil Oil Pegasus bolted to a Ford Model T. It’s in a glass gazebo to protect it from the elements so it is hard to photograph without getting a reflection.

Aurora Indiana is a cute town. One of its abandoned buildings was put to interesting use with murals on its four sides. See Ellen in two of the photos? These are large. They must have used a lot of paint.

Just before driving through Dupont IN we took a picture of a large micrometer grave marker. Mr. Hughes, no doubt, used a much smaller instrument for his tool and die business. See the photo.

The day was getting long so we drove to the hotel. It’s interesting to note that if we had taken the Interstate Highway System we would have made it from hotel to hotel in about five hours. Our purpose is to use Highway 50, to go straight across the middle of the country. It took eleven hours of driving today but it was beautiful!

Our GPS navigators are always trying to make us go the fastest route. To force them to go where we want to we have to place intermediate waypoints along our desired route. Today, those waypoints were (starting from Chillicoteh OH and going to Vincennes IN) Hillsboro OH, Cincinnati OH, North Bend OH, Rising Sun IN, Vevay IN and North Vernon IN. This is turning out to be a wonderful trip!
