Before leaving Van Horn, Texas we stopped and took pictures of some funky yard art. We shot them on a previous trip so there are only a few pictures here.

The day before it had rained in the area and not far from town we spotted some holes filled with water on the side of the road. We figure that the water will eventually evaporate.

Fort Stockton, Texas is known for its Indian and cavalry silhouettes outside of town. The Indians are on the west side of town and the military group is coming from the east side of town. You see them from Interstate10, but there are more!

They are located at the Fort Stockton Visitor Center. The center is located in the original Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railroad Depot constructed in 1911. The city secured the depot in 1991 and rehabbed the building to become the community's official Tourism Center.

There is a famous roadrunner statue in town. Although we have pictures of it from previous trips we thought it needed another. It’s not as big as the one we saw in New Mexico yesterday.

Ozona, Texas (advertised and the World’s Biggest Little Town) has a visitor center located at a rest stop. See the picture with a hat on the top of the state of Texas.

The 77’7” Empty Cross is something to see but it isn’t the only thing at this beautiful site. There are various statues: a lion, Jesus washing feet, the world vs the Word, plus a baptismal fountain and more. Yes, it all has a Christian motif. There are signs with Biblical scriptures on them everywhere, even on the walkway itself! As you drive out of the exhibit you are reminded to remember to take Jesus with you.

Also, in Kerrville, Texas, we drove to a park next to the Guadalupe River. The river goes right through town. We saw a big bass fish and took a photo it. It is called Lupe. By the river there were lots of bathers enjoying the water.

The Museum of Western Art was closing as we arrived. However, there were some nifty statues outside that we were able to capture with our cameras. Another great day for us!
