We knew that today’s drive would be long so we decided to focus taking pictures at two particular spots. The first one was the Nostalgia Station Toy and Train Museum located in Versailles, Kentucky.

Its proprietors are Winfrey and Wanda Adkins. He was the one there today and acted as our docent. They do train sales, repairs, and restorations. The museum has been in operation since July 1987. It features antique toys and trains from the 1890's to the 1990's.

Ellen was more interested in the antique toy collection as she and her husband once had a modest collection. To see a video about the museum click here

The second place we visited is the Kentucky Folk Art Center. It is part of Morehead State University. We had been there on a previous trip and know that their exhibits are rotated. We wanted to see what was on display today.

According to Wikipedia, “Its focus is not only to preserve and educate the public on visual Appalachian folk art but also to promote traditional Appalachian music, storytelling, literature, dance, and crafts.”

Today we were greeted by a robot skeleton hanging on a ceiling hook. Is this what an Artificial Intelligence (AI) robot will look like!?! Check out that picture!

Then we drove through Charleston, West Virginia. We thought we might take a few photos there. We did not know that the four-day Sternwheel Regatta was in full swing.  The street fair caused key streets to close making it tough to drive around. So, it was off to the hotel for us.
