After breakfast we disembarked and headed to the historic Ryman Auditorium. It is best known as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943 to 1974. The auditorium was originally named the Union Gospel Tabernacle and can seat 2,362 people.
The founder was Tom Ryman, a riverboat captain and riverboat company owner and businessman. He had attended one of Rev. Sam Jones' 1885 revivals with the intent to heckle, but was instead converted into a devout Christian, and soon after pledged to build the tabernacle. It is opened to all religions but the intent of building it was to hear the Gospel preached.
We intended on going to see the Grand Ole Opry that night but Jorge did not feel well. Since we had been there to previously, we didn’t feel too bad about missing it. Overall, this has been a great cruise!
