We learned of a yard called Junkrasic Park from the internet. After arriving there we found that the place was a mess. Either vandals took to it or bad weather knocked most things down. It was a disappointment to see. However, as we left we saw that an airplane on the other side of the gray building was still in good shape.
Garden City CO hosts a company that makes those giant windmills that collect power. The parts for a windmill are laid in a giant yard. We were amazed by the sizes of the parts. Later in the day a truck was pulling a large windmill blade through a town street…hogging the road.
Next, we headed toward Dodge City KS. We spent time there on our last trip but wanted to see the Gun Fighter’s Wax Museum which is housed in the same building as the Kansas Teacher’s Hall of Fame. Jorge was very put out that they were closed until May!
There’s a good chance that he may never see it since our summer driving schedule for next year might not take us through “these here parts.” That’s cowboy talk. So, we headed out of Dodge.
It was cloudy all day so the weather was evenly pleasant. That should explain why the pictures don’t show lots of shadows today.
