It rained hard overnight. The promise of the morning is that it would soon stop raining and it did. The clouds started to clear and the sun began to shine!
Today’s trip was all about The Alamo. We buzzed by Austin TX and headed to San Antonio TX. There is a river walk nearby. Around the Alamo it is a tourist trap!
You’ll find a wax museum featuring big heads of Donald Trump and Joe Biden. Very funny! And there’s a Ripley’s Believe It or Not! museum too. There are street artists, musicians and even a magician. And they’re all willing to take your cash.
A large area around the Alamo is under heavy construction. That made it hard to find the it! Once located we proceeded to act as tourists by taking photos. Check Ellen out in front of the Alamo church.
There is a large gift shop and the place is crowded. Another building hosts artifacts collected from the archeological digs at the Alamo. Many of those items were donated.
A replica of a Jim Bowie knife was on display. That fellow had a big, big blade. Then we headed into the Alamo church.
It is surprisingly in good shape. There were a few small rooms and one big enough for a video presentation. The altar area displayed plaques with the names of all those that sacrificed their lives.
We then headed to Sonora TX and had a nifty, safe ride. Another great day!
