The sky was blue all day but the cold wind kept our jackets on. It was a great day for taking photographs.

To get away from the traffic of the interstate highway we sometimes take alternate routes. We did that today. In Eldorado TX we found no museum opened. Most museums are closed on Mondays.

You’d think that the speed limit on these side roads would be slower. Nope! The average was 75 m.p.h.

Now, we’ve driven by the Alley Oop Museum and and Fantasy Land on previous occasions and vowed to return. Alas, we got skunked. It was closed. However, we had hope that the West of the Pecos Museum would be open. It stated so online.

So we got back on I-10 and drove by Squawteat Peak. Aptly named, we think!

The world’s first rodeo in the United States was held at the Buck Jackson Arena in Pecos TX. It was Monday so it was closed, too.

On previous trips, when we arrived  at the West of the Pecos Museum it had been closed. So, we expected it to be opened. Wrong!

Skunked again! Sometimes you don’t win. Still, it was a pleasant day for a nice drive.
