In Meridian, MS there are 60 carousel styled horses, spread about town, on permanent exhibit. Each has its own personalized painting and a name. We chose to show you just a few here.

Some towns choose large apples to exhibit. The town of Meridian purchased the Dentzel Carousel in 1909 for $2,000. It is worth over $1 million today. The carousel is a historical landmark and still operates. We rode it a few years back. Somehow the folks decided that more carousel horses placed about town was a good idea. We think so too!

The Jesse Brent Lower Mississippi River Museum is in Vicksburg, MS. This museum pays tribute the United States Army Corp of Engineers

It is the fourth boat to carry that name of Mississippi. It served as a towboat and inspection vessel until decommissioned in 1993. Now it is on permanent display on land at the museum.

Next, we drove to the entrance of Louisiana Tech University. There we found a Lockheed T-33 Shooting Star jet on a pole. It was low enough for Jorge to touch the right winglet.

Today was a cold and windy day. We had another easy drive.
