It did snow a bit overnight and left some ice here and there but today’s drive was not problem.  Interestingly enough, we developed a heavy coat of ice on the right side of the car which faced away from the sun. It was cool in the shade!

We headed for the Hill Country Science Mill in Johnson City, Texas. We both had the feeling that we had been here before and it was closed then too. Jorge snuck around the fence to get a couple of pictures in their yard.

Junk Folk Art is always fun to look at. In Fredericksburg, Texas it was created by Johann Eyfells. According to Roadside America, “Eyfells, the grandfather of sculpture, was born in Iceland, moved to Fredericksburg in the 1980s, and made art in his yard until his death, age 96, in Dec. 2019.

Another artist we met today is Carol Arnold. Ellen has been admiring and purchasing her work for years. They’ve emailed each other but met for the first time today over a pleasant lunch.

Arnold works with pastel and oil but says she’s impatient and prefers pastel. Jorge’s mom is like that too. Glad to meet such a nice person!
