There is a large road runner on the south side of I-10. One can only access it when traveling east. Yet, we were able to get a photo.

We headed west to Steins Ghost Town. It is located in New Mexico about three miles from the Arizona border. We’ve been there several times. It is truly a ghost town and nobody is allowed in. However, we can take pictures from the road.

We stopped at a gas station where the owner was exhibiting current Mexican art for sale. We took pictures of some string players. Very cool!

The Thing? is a roadside attraction. We were there years ago when it was a tacky, dusty exhibit. It had nothing to do with neither aliens nor dinosaurs. There was a car that claimed be that of Adolf Hitler.

We recognized that same car in the current exhibit. Now it is advertised as belonging to Winston Churchill.  That’s a big difference!

Today’s exhibits feature aliens and dinosaurs with lots of humor and questions like: What if dinosaurs were controlled by aliens? Pretty funny!

We went through The Thing? rather quickly but noted that the exhibits had been slimmed down.  From previous stops we remember there being more stuff. There is still a mummy that came from its original exhibit of years ago. We wondered whether it is really a mummy.

The Benson Historical Museum is a one room show with dividers separating their exhibits. Sections featured an optometrist office, a post office, musical instruments and more.

We have a few pictures to show. Most of the stuff looks as if were donated by the town’s people. “Need to get rid of old stuff? Send it to us.” Well, that’s what we imagined but we liked it.

Pacheco Peak came to view from the Tucson, Arizona freeway. It is definitely impressive, even from a distance.

Today we saw our first Saguaro trees. We can hear the music to Tumbling Tumbleweeds playing. What a great day!
