Today’s trip was another long one but the weather improved and it was no longer HOT! We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.

We did get skunked trying to visit a couple of museums (they were closed). The speed limit on I-15 and most of I-80 was set at 80mph. We couldn’t complain about that.

Park City UT was our first stop. It is a tourist resort. We figured that half the population of Salt Lake City must have been there. Everyone looked happy to be there and be seen. We left because parking was tough to find. Off we went to Coalville UT.

We stopped at Coalville’s local courthouse and found the Summit County Courthouse Museum in the basement. It was a hoot! We figured that everybody in town must have contributed to the project.

Needless to say (see the photos) every item was well documented. It was amazing. If you tried to read every sign you’d have to spend more than a couple of days there.

The basement is full of small rooms and each one is jam-packed with historical items from the town’s past: a record player, and iron stove, old typewriters and more! We recommend this little gem to anyone looking for a delightful museum.

Beside the scenic shots of our road trip, we got a neat picture of a statue of children pledging allegiance to the American flag. The life-size Moai was located by the parking lot of Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs WY.

The cow (with toilet plungers for horns and a tail) is a kick. Ellen liked the colorful gorilla so you’ll see that picture. It was a gorgeous trip!
