Although today’s trip was a short one, we got a lot of pictures . There was a railroad track-fixing machine that revised our thoughts about the grueling track repair . Our first drive-by was of a cowboy riding a bulldozer. He held a guitar and we think that he lights up at night. Ellen thought that the dead cow driving the tractor was a cute touch.

We stopped in Rawlins WY to visit the Carbon County Museum. It’s another of those small town museums where it seems everyone decided to donate stuff no longer used or needed. A map is included to give you an idea of the layout.

The restored Texaco gas station was interesting to see. The old gas pumps were huge..

At one point in the road we came across a truck that was re-painting yellow lines on the road. It caused a big back-up. Fortunately, passing lanes are spread every six miles in Wyoming.

Fort Casper sports a museum and a rebuilt fort. We toured the inside first. We thought that the Battle of Platte Ridge diorama was among the neatest things to see. We got a lot of photos of the insides of the fort buildings.

We found a T-Rex we had previously visited. Here you’ll see two side of it: One of bones and the other of flesh. We’ve read that it lights up at night.

We found a couple of very large statues of Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny. It’s advertising for a local restaurant called Sanford’s Grub and Pub. We enjoyed the other smaller statues too.
