Leaving our hotel, we spotted an alien’s grill and bar. Humans are welcome.

Due to the fact that today’s trip was a long one we cut down on places to visit. However, one thing we did aim for was to see a couple of giant trolls.

They are located in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They are the creation of Thomas Dambo with help from lots of his friends of Project 412. The idea is to seed these giant trolls in various locations. Some are easy to find and others a bit harder.

We got to see two of them. Alexa is a troll mixing elixir. She’s easy to find but there is a clue on the statue for finding the next troll. We went to find the next easiest one. He was Ronny Funnyface. Take a look at that face!

Next we drove to Akeley MN to find (if he were actually standing) the biggest Paul Bunyan statue in the world. Check-out Ellen being cradled in his right hand. That’s one big dude!

The Akeley Paul Bunyan Museum was a surprise. It had nothing to do with Paul Bunyan! Again, it’s one of those one-room museums stuffed with artifacts that are important to the local residents. It’s free.
