We took a couple of shots from Boulder City. It’s a nice, clean safe town. From our hotel you could see Lake Meade. After breakfast we headed to Chloride AZ.
The Last Stop Gas Station is on the way. The truth is, there are lots of stations. Snake Head Rock is on the way into town. The two red eyes makes it look menacing.
Chloride is a town off the beaten path full of aspiring artists…junk artists, that is. There is no way we could describe the amount of junk art at most homes. We could only get some representative pictures.
Roy Purcell’s Rock Murals are accessed through a windy, dirt road. We met a few cattle roaming the road. One of those cows ate a rubber water hose!
In Prescott AZ we enjoyed lunch at the Farm Provisions Restaurant. Yum! Just out of town we got a shot of a large statue of a woman carrying a hoe and a dead snake in her other hand. That is a tough one!
Getting to the Gold King Mine in Jerome AZ was a treat. It reminded us of the song, the Long and Winding Road. It was full of hairpin turns.
Then it started to rain, seriously. So, we took a few pictures and headed out of town. However, on the way we found a map of Arizona made of copper pennies. Well, It was part of the sign for the Arizona Copper Art Museum.
One the way home it rained and poured. While Jorge napped (missing it all) Ellen completed the trip with no complaints!
