We started off on a foggy morning to visit Mark Allan Tinkle, Jorge’s oldest friend. He was animated, cheerful and humorous.

Then we left to see the largest wooden bridge in the state of Georgia. The bridge is rated to hold 3 tons Hmmm? We’ve read that an SUV would not fit. Jorge wanted to try it, of course, but Ellen put her foot down and said, “No!” So that was that and it’s her car.

In Montgomery AL we stopped to examine the grave site of Hank and Audrey Williams. Astroturf is used instead of natural grass. It looks pretty good.

Heading out of town we saw a few good murals. The Nat King Cole mural was memorable. Just before jumping onto the highway we found a replica of the Wright Brothers’ airplane. It was stuck on a pole. Nearby there’s an air force base which also features a few jets on poles.

The Jimmie Rodgers Museum in Meridian MS was closed today but we called ahead anyway. We called ahead anyway. A nice docent, Leslie, answered and said that she would open the place for us and give us a private tour. Neat! You’ll see her pictured with Ellen.

Jimmie Rodgers is often pictured/painted with two thumbs up. He supposedly got that from his working days as a brakeman on the railroad. We wonder what it means? We had a great day!
