The weather turned for the better and today was a beautiful day! We spent most of the day driving and only had a chance to visit one museum.

We tried to visit the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science  several years ago but it was under re-construction due to a flooding storm. It is the  located in Jackson MS.

As we did on day three of this trip, we found lots of stuffed animals. A big difference is that this museum featured several small aquariums with some live animals.

You’ll have to to see them to really appreciate the exhibits. Photographs just don’t do them justice. Yet, you’ll find several pictures here that will give you an idea of what it’s all about.

They hung the bones of an ancient whale across the biggest room. This thing was really, really long and huge!

Right next door is a museum especially made for children. It is the Lefleur’s Bluff Education and Tourism Complex. We plan on coming here to visit this place. We’re little kids trapped in adult bodies, don’t you know?

Before leaving Jackson we drove by a muffler shop that featured three muffler sculptures. Find that picture. It’s a hoot!

Then we drove to our hotel and were reminded of the importance of being safe on the road. We saw a couple of bad traffic accidents and we hope nobody got hurt seriously.
