The main event today was the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix AZ. Opened in April 2010, it is the largest museum of its type in the world. The collection of over 15,000 musical instruments and associated objects includes examples from nearly 200 countries and territories, representing every inhabited continent.

Previously, we visited and tried to run through the place in an hour. That proved to be an impossible task. This time we chose to focus on the Americas. Not all the countries are represented in our pictures but many are.

Showing individual instruments (yes, we have pictures of them with detailed text) would be a Herculean task. So, we decided to place wide-field pictures to give you an idea of what the place is like…BIG!

We visited our good friends Bob and Lynda for lunch. We met them on MLAG cruises and have remained friends. They are good musicians and lots of tun to laugh with. When you find good people, stick to them!
