Today’s drive to Cody WY was only about 2:15. Not very long! We designed it that way because we planned a couple of major events. But more on that later.
Wyoming too is a beautiful state with lots of mountains, hills, prairie land and big skies. Some of the landscape reminded Jorge of Arizona except for all the green.
We drove through a beautiful canyon with steep walls. We even went through three tunnels in a row. Pretty neat!
In Cody we dropped Tickle off at a kennel for a few hours. Then we headed to the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, formerly known as the Buffalo Bill Historical Center. It is a complex of five museums and a research library featuring art and artifacts of the American West. Included is the Plains Indian Museum, the Buffalo Bill Museum, the Draper Natural History Museum, the Whitney Western Art Museum, and outdoor exhibits. They also feature special exhibits. This is a must go to place when you have time.
We found out about it several years ago when we attended a concert there by Dan Miller and his friends. Today we got to see Dan again but at the different location. He had a group previously but today it was just Wendy Corr and Dan. Check out his website here. Naturally, they sang some of our favorite cowboy and western songs, such as, Happy Trails, City of New Orleans, Don’t Fence Me In, Teach Your Children, Back in the Saddle Again and more.
